Southern Delta Aquariids in Mumbai

The Southern Delta Aquariids meteor shower peaks from Mumbai around Jul 29-30, with up to 25 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. In 2026 a bright moon will hide most meteors except the brightest, and from Mumbai the radiant in Aquarius climbs to 55° above the south horizon around 02:45. Local best viewing window: 23:05–04:55 IST on the peak night, about 5.8 hours of astronomical darkness. Scaled to that altitude, the 25/hour headline figure works out to roughly 20 meteors an hour from Mumbai under a genuinely dark sky. Tonight: cloud cover stays low across the forecast window.
