Southern Delta Aquariids in Paris

The Southern Delta Aquariids meteor shower peaks from Paris around Jul 29-30, with up to 25 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. In 2026 a bright moon will hide most meteors except the brightest, and from Paris the radiant in Aquarius climbs to 25° above the south horizon around 03:50. Local best viewing window: 01:10–03:50 CEST on the peak night, about 2.7 hours of astronomical darkness. Scaled to that altitude, the 25/hour headline figure works out to roughly 11 meteors an hour from Paris under a genuinely dark sky. The radiant stays low from Paris, so expect fewer meteors but longer, shallower trails near the horizon. Tonight: mostly clouded over — breaks will be brief.
