Southern Delta Aquariids in São Paulo

The Southern Delta Aquariids meteor shower peaks from São Paulo around Jul 29-30, with up to 25 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. In 2026 a bright moon will hide most meteors except the brightest, and from São Paulo the radiant in Aquarius climbs to 83° above the north horizon around 02:10. Local best viewing window: 21:35–05:20 UTC-03 on the peak night, about 7.8 hours of astronomical darkness. Scaled to that altitude, the 25/hour headline figure works out to roughly 25 meteors an hour from São Paulo under a genuinely dark sky. Tonight: fully overcast — little chance of a clear gap.
