Southern Delta Aquariids in Stockholm

The Southern Delta Aquariids meteor shower peaks from Stockholm around Jul 29-30, with up to 25 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. In 2026 a bright moon will hide most meteors except the brightest, and from Stockholm the radiant in Aquarius climbs to 14° above the south horizon around 02:55. Local best viewing window: 00:20–03:25 CEST on the peak night, about 3.1 hours of civil twilight. Scaled to that altitude, the 25/hour headline figure works out to roughly 6 meteors an hour from Stockholm under a genuinely dark sky. At this latitude the sky never gets fully dark that night — the Sun only reaches 12.1° below the horizon — so only the brighter meteors will show.
