Southern Delta Aquariids in Zaragoza

The Southern Delta Aquariids meteor shower peaks from Zaragoza around Jul 29-30, with up to 25 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. In 2026 a bright moon will hide most meteors except the brightest, and from Zaragoza the radiant in Aquarius climbs to 32° above the south horizon around 04:10. Local best viewing window: 02:05–05:00 CEST on the peak night, about 2.9 hours of astronomical darkness. Scaled to that altitude, the 25/hour headline figure works out to roughly 13 meteors an hour from Zaragoza under a genuinely dark sky. Tonight: some cloud about, but gaps should be frequent.
