The Geminids meteor shower peaks from København around Dec 13-14, with up to 120 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. In 2026 a thin crescent moon leaves mostly dark skies, and from København the radiant in Gemini climbs to 67° above the south horizon around 02:10. Local best viewing window: 20:05–06:10 CET on the peak night, about 10.1 hours of astronomical darkness. Scaled to that altitude, the 120/hour headline figure works out to roughly 110 meteors an hour from København under a genuinely dark sky. Tonight: some cloud about, but gaps should be frequent.
