The Geminids meteor shower peaks from Seoul around Dec 13-14, with up to 120 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. In 2026 a thin crescent moon leaves mostly dark skies, and from Seoul the radiant in Gemini climbs to 85° above the south horizon around 02:35. Local best viewing window: 21:10–06:00 KST on the peak night, about 8.8 hours of astronomical darkness. Scaled to that altitude, the 120/hour headline figure works out to roughly 120 meteors an hour from Seoul under a genuinely dark sky. Tonight: limited visibility; a site a short drive away may do better.
