The Ursids meteor shower peaks from Buenos Aires around Dec 22, with up to 10 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. From Buenos Aires the radiant in Ursa Minor never rises: on peak night it stays 20° below the horizon, so the Ursids cannot be seen from here at all. In 2026 a half moon will wash out fainter meteors, but you would need to travel toward the northern hemisphere to catch this one. Tonight: complete cloud cover across the forecast window.
